Update on Resort Operation due to Coronavirus and Cyclone Harold

Unfortunately due to the worldwide restrictions on air travel and Fiji's own border control due to COVID-19, we have had to temporarily close the doors at Nanuya Island Resort.

Currently plans are to remain closed until June 30th, pending updates from Fiji Health and the global community at large.

We all rely and look forward to greeting guests from all over the world and our Nanuya family look forward to welcoming you back just as soon as the boats & planes allow.

Things are currently so different all over the world and certainly we at Nanuya Island Resort are no exception. We, like all our neighbour resorts, are currently closed down, pending getting the all clear to once again, start showing off our little piece of Paradise.

We also are mindful that these temporary conditions are essential to curtail the spread of the pandemic – the health of staff and guests will always remain a priority.

No matter what the challenges, life still goes on here at Nanuya Island Resort, albeit, a little differently.

Ivan still spends most of his time on his beloved plantation and a skeleton staff of management and maintenance staff are on site to keep everything clean, tidy and operational to ensure we will be ready to ‘spring back’ into action in the future.

Our General Shop had been closed from the 26th of March BUT as from 10th April, is now again open for business from Monday to Saturday. Operating hours are 11am to 5:30pm except for Sunday when the shop is closed for religious observance. The shop has been restocked and open to the entire Waya, Naviti & Yasawa group of Islands.

Currently, we are only allowing 4 customers in the shop at one time & NO KIDS. Public Awareness Notices are on display and our team are out and about to remind everyone to respect each other and ensure social distancing.

Even though the resort is temporarily closed - we do however have a few guests!

Around fifteen of our very loyal staff found themselves unable to get transport back to their homes etc on other islands or the mainland, SO they are enjoying the comforts of Nanuya Island Resort from a totally different perspective!

We will continue to maintain operation and ensure everything is in readiness for when both new guests and our loyal ‘returnee’ market can again find peace and tranquillity here in the Yasawa Islands of Fiji and more specifically, Nanuya Island Resort.

Oh, and you may have heard we also recently experienced a very strong storm – Cyclone Harold ripped through the Yasawa Islands but luckily we were saved from most of its destruction! The plantation was hit hardest, meaning more work by Ivan and his boys to get us all ready for reopening.

Like everything, the storm has passed and so will Coronavirus.

For those with existing bookings up to the 30th of June 2020, we will be happy to work with you to re-book your travel for an available date up to the 31st of March 2021.

On behalf of Val and Ivan, the owners of Nanuya Island Resort, our Management Team spread across Fiji and the world- AND our staff both onsite and elsewhere, we trust you all stay safe and remain well during these difficult times.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to our Island Home, with our famous Bula song and a special Nanuya Cocktail, when once again we get to stand on the sand and offer you our traditional greeting.

We are on this Journey Together!!
